Job Purpose

We seek an Applications Engineer with a passion for renewable energy to join our growing team. This role supports our product lines, sales, service operations, and customers. This individual will work closely with the sales and product teams to provide technical support on CPS products and solutions, as well as help advance the CPS product line. The ideal candidate should have detailed knowledge and experience with solar PV and energy storage technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a thorough understanding and knowledge of CPS America products and solutions for the North American commercial/utility solar PV and energy storage markets
  • Support sales team and customers with product and application knowledge including pre-sales engineering support and technical training
  • Remain a product expert in the industry and within the company
  • Gain and share industry insights including applicable engineering requirements, standards, regulations, and market trends
  • Develop/deliver technical presentations for customers and sales team as needed
  • Support the definition of future products and interact with R&D team to stay abreast of the company’s technology and direction
  • Work with product team to identify product and engineering requirements based on market, customer, and other feedback

Job Purpose

As a Business Development Engineer, you will assist the sales team and customers directly with your expertise in solar inverter applications in the US market. You will also gather and internally communicate market requirements, regulatory changes, and customer preferences to inform product management teams in line with the global product strategy. Reporting to the Director of Engineering and Products for the US, you will work with customers on commercial, and utility scale projects to help drive sales and increase market share.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Provide technical product and integration support to sales and customers for product introduction, detailed evaluation and qualification, and project delivery
  • Evaluate and share customer voice, regulatory changes, market conditions and competitor analysis to product management team
  • Develop new business opportunities and maintain existing clients
  • Identify opportunities to grow business and market share
  • Identify industry trends and product requirements
  • Work with independent engineers and industry experts on new applications for products
  • Support and manage customer design and interconnection processes with CPS products, directly and with third party engineering firms and other professional organizations as needed
  • Support sales and product integration efficiency by delivering appropriate product knowledge information, providing training (customers and sales), and encouraging collaboration and knowledge-sharing
  • Attend and present at customer meetings, tradeshows, and conferences in person and on-line, as needed
  • Write technical briefs, white papers, and application notes as requested

Qualifications

  • Electrical or mechanical engineering degree preferred
  • Knowledge of photovoltaic inverters, racking, PV Balance-of-Systems, power electronics, and power distribution systems
  • Experience with Solar PV and/or Energy Storage industry in related role
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Teamwork skills across all functions

Working Environment

  • This is a remote position that requires at least 50% travel to meet with customers, sales teammates, expos, and tradeshows

Job Purpose

The successful Business Development candidate will be responsible for developing an effective strategy to support new and current leads, nurturing existing accounts, creating an effective sales process utilizing Salesforce and SAP, and improving upon broker and operational processes.. This individual will support the outside sales team and customers. They will promote our exemplary sales and service culture through effective coaching, guidance and staff motivation, and achieves sales goals through new sales, referrals and retention of relationships.

Duties and responsibilities 

Applicant must be detail-oriented and be able to work independently as well as in a team. Must be able to prioritize workload, keep track of due dates and get the job done from start to finish with accuracy. Be responsible for assigned tasks. Great verbal and written communication skills are key for this role, as well as ability to communicate clearly with customers/vendors via multiple channels. 

Proficiency with MS Office as well as Salesforce and SAP is a plus. We will train you on our products, which is essential for sales. 

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of customer service or sales experience
  • Business degree or experience desired 
  • Must be highly motivated and goal oriented to reach or exceed sales goals
  • Skilled at order taking and processing, assisting customers with quotes and questions
  • Provide excellent customer service to customers 
  • Knowledge of the PV industry desired

Job Purpose

CPS America is seeking a sales expert in utility and large commercial solar PV solutions to support customers in the U.S. market. The ideal candidate will build strong relationships with utility solar inverter customers and secure business for CPS America.  Typical customers include solar integrators, EPC’s, Financiers and Developers.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Identify and build relationships with Utility Solar inverter users (engineers and business leaders)
  • Secure RFP and project application opportunities, build funnel and administer CRM reporting
  • Create and organize proposals and presentations for customers
  • Solve problems and provide solutions for customers
  • Sell and secure customer orders, build relationships, and establish annual purchase agreements
  • Achieve targets for sales revenue, growth, and market share in US solar energy market
  • Drive planning and execution requirements to ensure optimal customer experience
  • Establish account and regional plans for top target customers
  • Collect and organize market trends and insights to inform CPS America product development
  • Collaborate with sales, engineering, and service departments
  • Represent CPS America at industry events

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of utility-scale PV sales experience
  • Must be highly motivated and goal oriented to reach or exceed sales goals

  • Globally minded, with experience and/or openness to working with Asia-based operations

Location: Dallas Metro Area

Job purpose

The Failure Analysis Engineer will conduct hardware failure analysis of CPS products and support the reliability and development teams. The candidate’s core responsibility will be to analyze failed samples from RMA field returns, as well as conduct accelerated testing (electrical, thermal, humidity) to understand failure mode, failure mechanism, and root cause. The FA engineer will also recommend and validate suitable corrective actions using novel testing protocols that improve the reliability of our next-generation products and energy technologies. This position will report to the CPS headquarters located in Richardson, Texas. 

Responsibilities 

  • Support for storage and inverter technologies
  • Work with product design group to identify predictive tools/information to diagnose symptoms prior to product failures
  • Analyze failed units in a timely manner (reliability and manufacturing) to find root cause and validate preventive actions, to ensure the optimum quality performance and reliability
  • Produce FA test reports (by collecting, analyzing, interpreting, summarizing, and displaying data) to be used for communicating issues and root causes to others
  • Develop innovative methods to identify critical failure modes and prevent/fix prior to new product launches
  • Support cross functional teams to perform DFMEA in early life cycle phase and recommend design changes
  • Familiarity with Commercial market segment of photovoltaics desired 
  • Ability to manage and oversee multiple projects and/or programs concurrently

Job Purpose

The Field Service Technician’s primary role is to support customers and field installations using Chint Power Systems (CPS) products; typical customers include solar integrators, EPC’s, Financiers/Developers, O&M providers and Distributors.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Visit customer sites to repair or replace CPS inverters, troubleshoot problems relating to inverters
  • Perform commissioning services for CPS inverters at customer sites
  • Build a relationship with users/customers and build their confidence in CPS products in order to provide customers with great experience and satisfaction with using CPS products
  • File reports of all service activities within CPS and for customers
  • Collaborate with sales and service teams to build relationships and support new projects with customers
  • Communicate with HQ, promptly address market and customer requests to increase customer satisfaction
  • Be professional in all aspects of work quality, communications, company and individual presentation
  • Use leading edge safety practices and implement company policies and procedures
  • Daily travel to assigned service locations. Occasional travel out-of-town to attend required training or work at branch locations or customer PV sites

Qualifications

  • 2 year AA degree or 4 year college degree relating to electrical, power electronics field
  • 5 years of experience with solar and/or energy industry services, commissioning, and applications
  • Knowledge of solar PV inverter and technology (residential, commercial, utility, power conversion)
  • Knowledge in use of DVM, Current probes and power meters
  • Experience in field repair, maintenance, diagnostics of inverter, data communications and PV arrays
  • Knowledge of industry standards and codes (NEC, UL, IEEE, utility interactivity)
  • Excellent computer skills, Microsoft Outlook suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, diplomacy and sensitivity to critical communications
  • Multiplexer, agile, speed and problem solving oriented, systematic, organized, eager to travel regularly and with short notice for sake of customer satisfaction and field portfolio performance goals
  • OSHA and related safety training such as arc-flash, high voltage training
  • Good driving record

Working Environment

  • This job requires working outdoors, exposed to all weather conditions (above 90 degrees or below 32 degrees depending on the time of year)
  • Requires working indoors in non-controlled environmental conditions
  • Requires working in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions
